We're all used to the use of design by Apple in their products, but they have extended this into both their retail and email customer touchpoints.
Email can enhance the customer experience if done right - it does not just have to be in an email blast.
In this example, Apple set up an auto responder email as a result of my visit to their store to arrange a meeting regarding a faulty product. This is their confirmation.
Being greeted properly in store, finding a quick resolution and confirming it with this email enhanced an already brilliant experience and gave me a record of it.
The only retailer in my experience that comes close is John Lewis.
